Welcome to ArtsFest 2009!

ArtsFest continues to grow year on year in terms of artistic content, visitors, town support and sponsorship, and is now well established in Lyme’s busy calendar.

Artists’ Open Studios and Exhibitions, Workshops and Events are set out here for you with maps to help you plan your visit and locate venues.

We have over 60 artists collaborating with almost 100 shops and businesses exhibiting their work; a wider locality of studios for you to explore; a range of events for family participation as well as smaller workshops and ‘unusual happenings’. You will find them all in this brochure, with details of dates, times and locations, as well as on our website where there are many links to artists’ own sites.

The B Sharp Youth Music Project will entertain you with performances and busking during the festival. They also invite you to participate in the Drum Workshop on the opening day.

A most interesting range of Literary talks and walks feature throughout the week (identified with a book logo), arranged in collaboration with the organisers of a new Lyme literature festival. We are pleased to welcome special guest author Tracy Chevalier.

The dramatic Raku pottery firings take place at the Town Mill, which is the destination of the opening procession, all are welcome to join in! Our Big Draw event entry ‘The Giants’ Garden’ is another must for families, young and old, and is run this year by young artist Phoebe Hill, supported by Christine Allison.

Visit the Jam Factory, for absurd surprises, inspiration, performance and art.

We thank our main sponsors, West Dorset District Council and Lyme Regis Town Council; all our page sponsors; all those of you who have helped support ArtsFest fundraising events and all those who help to promote the thriving arts scene in Lyme Regis.

Enjoy your visit, and our wonderful town.
