Lyme Regis ArtsFest  is taking a break....

Dear ArtFest Artists and Supporters

ArtsFest 2017 will consist of a showcase exhibition at the Town Mill Galleries from Sept 29th – Oct 8th called 'ArtsFest Unplugged’  details of which will follow.

Meanwhile, for the longer term, ArtsFest is looking to revive one of its original aims by being more inclusive of all the creative arts in and around Lyme Regis not just 2D & 3D visual art but also music, dance, theatre, painting, photography, opera, literature, designers, chefs, gardeners, crafts, filmmakers, calligraphers, jewellery makers, furniture makers, textiles, ceramics.....with societies, clubs, schools and individuals coming together to present a festival  that celebrates what they do and invites visitors to witness and share in their creativity.

Invitations to a meeting will be sent to key organisations and individuals in the New Year where they can express their interest to be part of the creation of such a festival in 2018 but offers of help to take this concept forward would be VERY welcome ...........please email and we’ll make sure you are put in touch with each other.

A themed exhibition with tutorial support and including schools and colleges, which has been part of ArtsFest over the last two years will continue throughout 2017 , with the actual exhibition will take place early in 2018 . This will encourage and develop the partnership between the local artistic community and educational institutions established over the last two years.

The Sculpture Trail may now evolve to an all year presence, subject to funding and resourcing. This continual presence would no longer fit within the “festival event” that ArtsFest has been so it was felt that, in future, it would simply be called the Lyme Regis Sculpture Trail to avoid confusion.

And watch this space to see how the Sculpture Trail fares now it has reached the final of the Aviva Community Fund 2016.

With very best wishes

The 2016 ArtsFest team.

There will continue to be interesting and enjoyable art works to be seen and purchased at the Town Mill Galleries, open 10.30 - 4.30 every day. For further details, see

Meanwhile, huge thanks to all the businesses who supported both the Sculpture Trail and the Art Trail, and to West Dorset District Council and Lyme Regis Town Council who, along with the Arts Council, made the 2016 festival possible.
